Zoning Board of Appeals

The Zoning Board of Appeals ​holds public hearings to consider requests for rezonings of property, petitions for variations to the zoning ordinance, appeals from zoning rulings or zoning decisions made by the mayor, and general amendments to the zoning ordinance.  In the matter of rezonings and general amendments to the zoning ordinance, the Zoning Board of Appeals makes recommendations to the village board for action.

The Zoning Board of Appeals consists of seven members appointed by the mayor with the advice and consent of the village board.  Members are appointed for a staggered five-year term of office and serve without compensation.

Meetings are held at the call of the mayor when a zoning issue has been referred for consideration.  For further information, click on one of the following menu options:
